Vivo has formally unveiled the V50, the company's forthcoming flagship model in the V-series. When the V50 is released in India, it will take the place of the V40 model, which was introduced there in August 2024 together with the V40 Pro model. With the exception of a few specifics like the phone's processor and charging speed, Vivo appears to have made the decision to formally disclose the majority of the data about its future high-end smartphone on its own website after multiple rumours. The phone's cosmetic design and the colour variants that will be offered at launch are also revealed on the landing page.
Though it has a more rounded look, the Vivo V50's design looks a lot like the model it will replace. Its display is one obvious alteration to its design. It is now a quad-curved panel rather than a dual-curved edge panel, which means that, unlike the Vivo V40, the display curls slightly over the edges on all four sides rather than just the left and right.
With an official IP68 and IP69 rating for water and dust, the phone's IP rating has also been raised. Rose Red, Starry Blue, and Titanium Grey are the colour options that will be offered for the phone.
The camera module in the shape of a keyhole at the back is still there and secures two cameras once more. All three cameras feature 50-megapixel sensors, according to the website. A 50-megapixel front-facing camera, a 50-megapixel primary camera, and a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera would all fall under this category. The Aura Light feature from Vivo is also included, however it looks much larger than it did in the prior generation.
A 6,000mAh battery, Funtouch OS 15, and certain AI and camera features that were recently added to the company's flagship model, the Vivo X200 Pro, are among the other specifications the landing page disclosed. Its processor and charging speed, however, are unknown. According to an earlier claim, the Vivo V50 will include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3.
