A new feature in Google Photos for Android gives users more options for how they want their grid view to look. In the past, customers could choose between a "Day," "Month," or "Comfortable" view to change the layout density. They could also stack related photographs. They could navigate between similar images in a carousel by tapping on a stacked image tile. Users can now further customise their experience by selecting whether to display or conceal images, GIFs, and videos from other apps thanks to the latest update.

Google Photos Introduces New Features to Cut Down on Clutter
In order to help users make their photo grids less cluttered, Google Photos for Android has included new customising options. 9to5Google was the first to notice this, but Gadgets 360 was able to confirm the modifications. The 'Show content from other apps' option, which has two sub-options named 'Only show backed-up content' and 'Hide clutter from other apps,' is one of the new features.

Google Photos version 7.14 for Android is introducing the new personalisation choices. A 'New! Keep your Photos display clear of clutter from other apps' dialogue box will appear directly above the Memories carousel for users to see when it becomes available. Users can attempt force-closing the application and revisiting the overflow menu to see if the update is available.

The 'Only show backed-up content' option displays backed-up or pending backed-up images from apps other than the native camera. The other setting, titled 'Hide clutter from other apps,' conceals screenshots, GIFs, and memes once they have been stored up.

Additionally, Google included a 'Customise by app' feature that lets users control media from particular apps, such as Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, Pinterest, and more. To provide customers more precise control over what shows on the photo library in the Google Photos app, users may select Show all, Hide clutter, or Hide all choices for each app.
