Google on Wednesday rolled out the February 2025 patch for Pixel devices. The over-the-air (OTA) update, which is available for the company's latest Pixel 9 series, Pixel Tablet, and other older devices running Android 15, brings fixes for issues related to audio and Bluetooth. Further, it also includes a security patch which fixes a vulnerability in the software that is declared as having critical severity, in addition to bringing functional improvements.
February 2025 Update for the Google Pixel
A Google community manager described the features of the February 2025 Pixel update, build number AP4A.250205.002 for worldwide models, on a support page. Additional IDs C1, B2, and A1 are included with Pixel devices connected to T-Mobile, Telstra, and EMEA, respectively. According to the changelog, the patch resolves a problem that, in some circumstances, hampered Android Auto's audio output on devices ranging from the Pixel 6 to the Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
Additionally, it fixes another fault that has been known to infrequently disable connection with specific Bluetooth accessories or devices. But according to reports, this problem was unique to the Pixel 9 series and was resolved in the February 2025 update.
According to the changelog, the update includes a security patch for one common vulnerability and exposure (CVE) in addition to bug fixes. It has been fixed with the update and is identified by the identifier CVE-2024-53842, which impacted the baseband subcomponent. The severity of the CVE was described as "critical."
