Apple Increases the Cost of Every iPhone's Monthly AppleCare+ Subscription

This week, Apple raised the cost of its monthly AppleCare+ membership for the iPhone by 50 cents for all US models.


For instance, the monthly cost of standard AppleCare+ for the iPhone 16 models has increased from $9.99 to $10.49. All AppleCare+ plans for the current iPhone series, including the regular plan and the Theft and Loss plan, are subject to the 50 cent price hike.

Neither the service fees nor the deductibles have changed, nor have the costs of the two-year AppleCare+ membership. Only those who pay for AppleCare+ on a monthly basis are subject to the higher costs.

The costs of AppleCare+ subscription plans for the iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch have not increased.

Apple is getting ready to switch AppleCare+ purchase choices to subscriptions, which is why it changed the pricing of iPhone AppleCare+ monthly subscriptions. As of this week, Apple is discontinuing its one-time purchase AppleCare+ plans for on-device purchases and retail locations.

Customers who make purchases at Apple Stores and through the iPhone's Settings app will be able to purchase AppleCare+ as a monthly or annual subscription that renews, preventing any coverage gaps and giving Apple continuous income after two years.
