The public now has the opportunity to test out the features of the next macOS Sequoia update before it launches in the autumn thanks to Apple's release of the third beta to its public beta testing group today. Two weeks after the second public beta was made available, the third is now available.

After registering on Apple's beta testing website and selecting to participate in the public beta under the Beta Updates section, public beta testers can obtain macOS Sequoia through the Software Update section of the System Settings app.

The primary feature of macOS Sequoia is iPhone Mirroring, which allows you to use your Mac's keyboard and mouse to operate your iPhone from your computer. Later this year, you'll be able to utilise the ability to drag and drop programs from your Mac to your iPhone and vice versa. You can get notifications and use your iPhone apps even while it's hidden and locked.

Improved window tiling makes it simpler to arrange several windows on your Mac in a way that suits you; Safari summarises webpages and highlights content for you; and the Messages app allows you to schedule messages and use the Tapback feature with any emoji.

The Notes app now supports voice transcription and summarisation, the Photos app gets a new look, you can enter in any equation and have it answered automatically, and the Passwords app has been updated to manage your passkeys, passwords, and logins.

All of the new Apple Intelligence capabilities that will be included in iOS 18 are supported in macOS Sequoia, providing several enhancements to the user's quality of life. With writing tools, you can edit and refine your writing across apps, use Image Playground to create original images, and use Genmoji to create custom emojis. There's a Clean Up option in Photos to get rid of unnecessary photos, and Siri will leverage AI to grasp language and contextual relevance better. For more complex questions, ‌Siri‌ will even be able to contact ChatGPT.
