The Made by Google event is scheduled for next week, when the Google Pixel 9 series will debut. They might show up with a new weather app, according to a recent story. According to rumours, this new weather app was created just for the incoming Pixel 9 series, which is expected to include the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. It's unclear if the new app will be accessible in addition to or in place of the current Google app weather feature.
A New Weather App Is Supposed to Arrive for the Google Pixel 9 Series
The new weather app for the Google Pixel 9 series is reportedly a revamped version of the Google app's weather component, per a report by Android Authority. The magazine stated that it obtained access to the app from unidentified sources. Despite the fact that all of the functions were said to be functional, the report—which included a few screenshots of the app—emphasized that this might not be the final build and might even be an incomplete version. It was said that the new weather app's simple design language was its largest modification. The original weather section's frog and backdrop visuals were swapped out for a straightforward gradient background that is solid coloured and purportedly corresponds to the local weather.
Based on the screenshot, there has also been an alteration to the information display. The largest component, the temperature, was positioned in the centre. An icon indicating the weather and day/night status was positioned next to the number in place of the degree symbol. The temperature and the high and low points of the day were visible underneath.
The report states that you may move the AQI, pressure, visibility, UV index, wind, humidity, dawn and sunset, and 10-day predictions on the weather information cards by long pressing on them. The hourly weather update card, which was positioned permanently directly beneath the main temperature display, was reportedly the lone exception.
The cards that were previously rectangular in the Google app's weather area were replaced with distinctive forms for each factor, including wind, pressure, visibility, AQI, and others. For every card, additional colours were also employed. The report also stated that the program did not employ any animation, which is another departure from the default setting.
It's unclear if the software will remain unique to the Pixel 9 series or if it will eventually be released for other Android phones as well as older Pixel handsets. It is advised to take this information with a grain of salt until the devices and their capabilities are formally disclosed on August 13, as Gadgets 360 was unable to verify the app's existence and Google has not made any announcements either.
