It is estimated that the iPhone 16 Pro will feature a 9% larger battery than the current model, the iPhone 15 Pro.

Later this year, Apple is anticipated to release its four-model iPhone 16 series. While a redesign is rumoured for the ordinary iPhone 16 models, the top-tier Pro models are anticipated to include multiple enhancements in important areas including performance and charging speeds. According to a new Chinese social media rumour, Apple might increase the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max's battery capacity.

Battery Capacity of iPhone 16 Pro Models

A post by user Instant Digital on the Chinese social media site Weibo (translated from Chinese) claims that improvements in battery life are anticipated for both iPhone 16 Pro models. The top-tier iPhone 16 Pro Max could have a 4,676mAh battery, although the iPhone 16 Pro is expected to have a 3,577mAh battery.

While the exact battery capacities of Apple's iPhone models are not disclosed by the company, it is commonly known that the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max feature 3,274mAh and 4,441mAh batteries, respectively.

Should the report prove to be accurate, the larger iPhone 16 Pro Max battery will have a capacity of 5% greater than the Pro model's, which translates to a 9% larger battery. It's unclear, though, if these figures would translate into longer battery life in practical applications.

Faster Charging Speeds for iPhone 16

A report suggests that quicker charging speeds will be included in the iPhone 16 Pro variants. As of right now, Apple has set a 20W maximum charging speed for the whole iPhone 15 series. It is stated that all iPhone 15 models can reach up to 50% charge in 30 minutes when used with a compatible power adapter that is 20W or greater and certified by Apple.
