Launch of the Redmi 12C with the MediaTek Helio G85 SoC and 5,000mAh Battery: Every Detail

Just before 2022 comes to a conclusion, Redmi 12C has been released in China. On the same day that the firm began selling its flagship Redmi K60 series in China, the new cheap smartphone from the Xiaomi sub-brand went online. A MediaTek Helio G85 SoC is included within the Redmi 12C, which was launched as a replacement for the Redmi 10C. Three storage option variations of the smartphone have been released. The low-cost alternative has a polycarbonate body and a plastic frame that come in four different colours.

Price and availability of the Redmi 12C

The base 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage Redmi 12C affordable smartphone is priced at CNY 699 (about Rs. 8,400). Pricing for the base model is CNY 799 (about Rs. 9,600), while the top-tier 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model costs CNY 899. (roughly Rs. 10,800).

The company's low-cost product is currently available for purchase in China through Mi.com, the company's official sales website. There are four colour choices for the smartphone: Shadow Black, Sea Blue, Mint Green, and Lavender (translated).

Redmi has not yet made any formal announcements on the Redmi 12C's global release.

Redmi 12C technical details

A hybrid dual SIM (Nano) slot has been added to the entry-level Redmi 12C. An octa-core MediaTek Helio G85 SoC and a Mali-G52 GPU power the smartphone. The phone has eMMC 5.1 flash memory and LPDDR4X RAM. All three of the internal storage options for the Redmi 12C allow for microSD card storage expansion up to 512GB.

The device has a square cutout on the rear where a single camera in a pill form and an LED flash are located. A fingerprint scanner is located next to the camera module for biometric authentication. The Redmi 12C has a dual camera setup with a 50-megapixel main sensor at the centre. On the front of the device, a small dewdrop notch housing a 5-megapixel camera sensor for selfies.

The 6.71-inch HD+ (1650x720 pixels) display on the Redmi 12C has a 20:6:9 aspect ratio and a maximum brightness of 500 nits. The smartphone has bezels that are rather thin. The Redmi Note 12C's chin, though, is quite hefty.

The gadget has a micro-USB connector for charging its 5,000mAh battery as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack. A 10W charging adaptor is included with each Redmi 12C purchase.
