According to reports, Spotify has decided to stop making certain of its audio programmes. The well-known audio streaming service has decided to discontinue at least six of its audio programmes while keeping a few others with live audio options.
A spokeswoman for Spotify reportedly confirmed the cancellation of a number of audio programmes, including Deux Me After Dark, Doughboys: Snack Pack, The Movie Buff, and A Gay in the Life.
The Fantasy Footballers and The Ringer MMA Show will still run their supplementary live audio broadcasts, according to the source.
The Swedish audio service's companion app, Spotify Greenroom, had its live audio features merged into the main app by April.
According to a TechCrunch article, Spotify purchased Greenroom in March 2021 after spending $62 million to acquire its parent business, Betty Labs. Greenroom was once known as Locker Room.
The business recently announced the launch of a new rewards programme in India, providing subscribers with a week's worth of reduced access to its Spotify Mini Premium plan.
The discontinuation of many audio programmes, including Deux Me After Dark, Doughboys: Snack Pack, The Movie Buff, and A Gay in the Life, was apparently verified by a Spotify spokesperson.
According to the source, The Fantasy Footballers and The Ringer MMA Show will continue to air their supplemental live audio broadcasts.
