WhatsApp has been seen developing a feature that would provide its customers' messages an additional layer of secrecy. Currently, users of the messaging service may send "view once" messages that include photos and videos. Once they have been viewed, they are intended to vanish. Currently, WhatsApp is working on enabling "view once" text message sending for Android, according to a feature tracker. Even if they have the most recent testing version installed on their phones, beta testers cannot use the function because it is still under development.
The popular messaging service has sent out version 2.22.25.20 of WhatsApp for Android through the Google Play Beta Program, according to a report from WhatsApp feature tracker WABetaInfo. References to a feature that enables users to send "view once" text messages are included in this beta version of WhatsApp.
According to the feature tracker, WhatsApp is developing a dedicated button that will be placed next to the chat bar and allow users to enter messages before sending them. According to the source, the button used to send messages also shows a lock icon, however the look of the functionality may alter before it is officially published.
Currently, WhatsApp prohibits users from screenshotting "view once" photos and videos. Additionally, sharing, forwarding, copying, and saving them are not even permitted. According to the feature tracker, a future upgrade of WhatsApp could also prohibit taking screenshots of "see once" messages.
On iOS and Android, the messaging app owned by Meta recently debuted a new feature dubbed "Message Yourself" that enables users to send or forward messages to themselves. With WhatsApp, users may share material from other applications straight to a chat with themselves as well as forward messages from other chats to themselves.
In the meanwhile, WhatsApp has launched an upgrade that enables iOS users to forward media with subtitles. iPhone users will be able to manually delete subtitles that have been added to transmitted media on WhatsApp. Users of iOS may get the functionality in the most recent version of the app from the App Store.
