The Chinese smartphone maker Honor has announced through Twitter that the X9a 5G will shortly go on sale in Malaysia. In addition, Honor released a teaser video to showcase the smartphone's design without announcing the precise launch date. In the brief video, Honor highlights the curved display's resilience and demonstrates how resistant the Honor X9a 5G is to drops. The rear camera module's design is strikingly similar to that of the Honor X40, which was unveiled in China in September.
The Honor X9a 5G's Malaysian debut was hinted on the company's official Twitter account. "Ultra-tough OLED curved display" is the tagline used by the firm in the teasers. The handset is depicted in the teasers as being white and having a hole punch display. On the rear, it is revealed to have a sizable camera ring with several sensors and an LED flash.
In the teaser video, Honor emphasises the upcoming Honor X9a 5G's durability by dropping it on various surfaces, such as marble and concrete, a few times. Multiple drips appeared to have little effect on the display. With regard to general design, it resembles the Honor X40. However, Honor declined to confirm the precise launch date or important details of the Honor X9a 5G.
For the international markets, the Honor X9a 5G is most likely to debut as a rebranded version of the Honor X40. In China, the Honor X40's starting price for the basic model with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage is CNY 1,499 (about Rs. 17,100).
With an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC, up to 12GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of internal storage, the Honor X40 has a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone has two back cameras, one with a 50-megapixel main sensor and the other with a 2-megapixel sensor. It has a 5,100mAh battery and supports 40W fast charging.
