According to reports, Apple has started distributing iOS 16.2 Beta 4 to compatible iPhone devices. The latest version of Apple's mobile operating system upgrade, which is currently ready for public testing, aims to enhance how consumers access and display their alerts on phones after updating to it. With the most recent iOS 16.2 Beta 4 update, registered iPhone developers and beta testers may now swipe up within the Notification Center to view their alerts. The Cupertino, California-based iPhone released iOS 16.2 to beta testers back in October, and it is anticipated that all users will receive it by the end of the month.

According to a report by MacRumors, developers and beta testers who have registered with Apple will be able to download the iOS 16.2 Beta 4 update through the company's Developer Center. According to a report by The Verge, the update offers a better method to get and read alerts by reducing the need for scrolling.

To view previous alerts, users of iOS 16 and earlier releases, such as iOS 15, had to physically swipe up and scroll from the centre of the Notification Center. Even if the user hadn't read them, simply unlocking the phone and locking it again would trigger iOS 16 and earlier versions to recognise them as outdated notifications and deliver them to the Notification Center. Older notifications in Notification Center may go completely unnoticed because they take further swiping up effort to reveal.

Apple appears to be aiming to address this by giving a more user-friendly method of viewing both new and old notifications on the Notification Center. According to reports, the corporation will just require one swipe as the required motion.

It's important to keep in mind, though, that the modifications being tested apparently only apply to the notification centre and do not modify how notifications are shown on the lock screen. If this is the case, earlier alerts may continue to be hidden in the notification centre unless the user swipes up from the screen's centre.

The features reported as being in testing on the most recent iOS 16.2 Beta 4 update for developers have not yet been confirmed by Apple, and it is unknown if the features reported as being in testing will make it to the fully stable iOS 16.2, which is anticipated to release later this month.
