Airtel announced the opening of its 5G services in Shimla on Monday. As the firm builds up its network and completes the roll-out, Airtel 5G Plus services will gradually become accessible to users, according to the telecom. According to a statement from the firm, customers with fifth-generation mobile systems (5G)-capable smartphones may use the fast Airtel 5G Plus network without paying extra until the roll-out is more widespread.

The service provider stated its services, which are now accessible at Mall Road, Sanjoli, Dhalli, BhattaKufar, Ridge, the Sanjoli Helipad area, and a few other chosen spots, would be expanded across the city in due course.

Pushpinder Singh Gujral, the CEO of Upper North, said on the launch: "Customers of Airtel may now use an ultrafast network with speeds up to 20–30 times quicker than those of existing 4G. In order to provide clients with speedy access to high-definition video streaming, gaming, multiple chatting, rapid photo uploading, and more, we are now lighting up the entire city."

According to the firm, Airtel 5G Plus would enhance the whole range of services that Airtel provides. Additionally, it stated, this service would provide very quick access to high-definition video streaming, gaming, numerous chats, immediate photo uploads, and more. According to the corporation, Airtel 5G Plus will revolutionise mobility, logistics, manufacturing, health care, and education.

Airtel announced the opening of its 5G services in Lucknow last week. Gomti Nagar, Hazratganj, Aliganj, Aishbagh, Rajajipuram, Aminabad, Jankipuram, Alambagh, and a few more chosen places presently have access to the company's 5G network. According to a statement made at the time by Airtel, the business would eventually expand its network so that its services are available throughout the whole city.
