We reported that WhatsApp was releasing a version of the companion mode that would enable linking an Android tablet to an existing WhatsApp account in the post about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.21.6 upgrade. In the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.4.8 changelog, we also mentioned that WhatsApp was creating an in-app banner to promote that specific version.
A presentation screen for WhatsApp on Android tablets is now accessible to certain beta testers directly inside connected devices after installing the most recent WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.24.18 upgrade, even if the banner may still not be visible.
This picture demonstrates how choosing the "connected devices beta" option causes the new presentation screen to appear in the linked devices section. Since this feature is designated as "beta," some functions, such as the capacity to check live locations and adjust broadcast lists, might not yet be accessible to all users.
To see if this functionality is already available for your account, download the most current beta version from the Play Store. If a QR Code screen appears after launching WhatsApp on your tablet, you may now begin using your existing WhatsApp account on your Android tablet.
It should be noted that the companion mode is currently only available for Android tablets, but it will eventually be made available for other mobile devices as well. The feature's release date is unknown, but it will probably happen once all features are made available on companion devices and any remaining bugs have been fixed.
Some beta testers have access to the updated presentation sheet for WhatsApp on Android tablets, and it will gradually become available to more users in the coming weeks.
