We announced information about a new feature that is in development in the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.23.9 update: the capacity to automatically silence sizable group chats. In truth, WhatsApp last month (and to more users today) offered bigger group conversations up to 1024 individuals, so the team decided to create a function that would have automatically silenced such groups. This functionality is now available to select beta testers who installed one of the most recent versions of WhatsApp beta for Android from the Play Store after 20 days:
This screenshot demonstrates how an alert stating that the group has been automatically muted to reduce notifications appears. As a result of this feature, those groups will be automatically muted when they reach a large number of participants. As a result of the size of this group, you might receive more notifications than you anticipate. You can always restore notifications for a muted group chat because you always have control over your groups and notifications.
Large group conversations may now be automatically muted to help decrease alerts. This feature has already been made available to certain beta testers and will gradually be made available to additional users over the next few days.
