We noted that WhatsApp was aiming to rebuild a portion of your privacy settings that enables us to control vanishing messages for your account in the post about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.24.6 upgrade. After a few days and a few iterations, some beta testers who download the most recent WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.24.9 update from the Play Store are surprisingly receiving the redesign:
Simply go to WhatsApp Settings > Privacy > Disappearing messages (formerly named "default message timer") to find the part you need to see whether the redesign is already accessible for your account.
It will be simpler for you to apply the default message timer to new chats and to set the timer for conversations that are already active, as we stated in the article where we first announced the redesign of this section. It was already possible to select a large number of ongoing conversations and mark them as disappearing threads in order to prevent misinformation, but WhatsApp is now making it simpler to do so.
Some beta testers have received the redesigned disappearing messages section, and more users will receive it over the next few days.
