The 33 district heads in Gujarat now have access to 5G service, according to telecom giant Jio, which announced the rollout on Friday. Gujarat is now the first state to offer 5G service to every district headquarters, and this is the largest trial-based roll-out of the next generation of services to date. According to Jio, it would offer 5G services to users throughout the trial period at no additional cost.
By expanding its True-5G coverage to each of Gujarat's 33 district headquarters today, Jio has made significant progress toward making Gujarat the first state in India with Jio True 5G coverage in every district headquarters. As the Janmabhoomi (birthplace) of Reliance, Gujarat retains a unique place, the firm said in a statement.
The company's "True 5G"-powered programme called "Education-For-All," in which Reliance Foundation and Jio are collaborating to first digitise 100 schools in Gujarat, marks the beginning of the company's service debut in the state.
"We are happy to announce that Gujarat is the first state with district headquarters that are fully linked to our powerful True 5G network. We want to demonstrate this technology's true potential and how it can improve a billion people's lives. Our honourable Prime Minister has made education a priority "Akash M. Ambani, chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm, said in the statement.
Jio's True5G, advanced content platform, teacher and student collaboration platform, and school management platform will all be connected to schools under the "Education-For-All" project.
Jio declared earlier this week that Pune has received the official launch of its Jio True 5G network. According to the company, residents of Pune may enjoy speeds of up to 1 Gbps with limitless 5G internet.
According to a statement issued by Jio on Wednesday, beta testing of its True 5G network in a city doesn't start until a sizable portion of the city is covered by the company's standalone True 5G network. This is done to ensure that Jio customers receive adequate coverage and can use the company's cutting-edge 5G network.
