We revealed that WhatsApp was introducing a specific variant of the companion mode to enable users to attach their current WhatsApp accounts to an Android tablet last month due to the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.21.6 upgrade. Even while we didn't have a firm release date in mind, we also stated that the companion mode will eventually be made available for smartphones. Finally, WhatsApp has enabled the feature for some beta testers to test the companion mode for smartphones!
It is very simple to find out if you can already link your existing WhatsApp account to a second mobile phone, as you can see in this screenshot. Simply check the options on the registration screen to see if there is a "Link device" option. You may finally use WhatsApp on a different cell phone if this option appears!
Your communication history will sync across your connected devices whenever you attach your WhatsApp account to a new smartphone. Since this is a beta version, it's possible that certain functionality, such the ability to check live locations and modify broadcast lists and stickers, are currently not functional.
You may join more than two mobile phones to your WhatsApp account since you may link up to four devices simultaneously. Additionally, even if you use WhatsApp from a connected cell phone, your personal messages and calls are remain end-to-end encrypted. This is because when someone sends you a message, it is delivered to all of your devices, ensuring that encryption is always maintained.
The latest WhatsApp beta for Android version is now available for certain beta testers who installed it via the Play Store, and it will be made accessible to additional people over the next several weeks. Keep your WhatsApp version up to date and wait for a fresh beta release if the functionality is still unavailable for you.
