One year ago today, we published information on how to use WhatsApp Business to generate advertising that redirect to a business's account through a click on WhatsApp. This allowed businesses to reach new customers.
Today, certain companies using one of the most recent beta versions of the app—and who haven't yet connected their WhatsApp account to Facebook and Instagram to use this feature—are seeing a new in-app banner:
The new in-app banner appears while launching WhatsApp Business, as seen in this picture, and it advises companies to connect their accounts to Facebook or Instagram in order to reach out to new clients. Businesses may gain new followers by advertising on these platforms after connecting their accounts; this feature has been available since last year and enables people who see the advertisement on Facebook or Instagram to quickly initiate a WhatsApp chat with the company. Businesses can even track their ads directly within WhatsApp, it should be noted.
It should be noted that the adverts will only appear on Facebook and Instagram in order to prevent disinformation. With you always in control of your discussions and the ability to ban businesses if you receive unwelcome messages, WhatsApp is not currently testing any kind of advertising on its platform.
Installing one of the most recent beta versions of WhatsApp Business for Android and iOS makes the new in-app banner available for some beta testers, and it will gradually become available to more users over the next few days.
