Common questions | Answers |
---|---|
Name of the feature? | WhatsApp Communities, Polls, 32 people video calling |
Status? | Rolling out |
Compatibility? | Latest versions of WhatsApp for Android and iOS are marked as compatible updates. |
I’ve installed this update but I don’t have these features. Why? | Mark Zuckerberg announced that WhatsApp is rolling out these features but it may still take a while for these features before reaching your account. |
Previous news? | WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.23.0.73: what’s new? WhatsApp is working on editing messages! |
Mark Zuckerberg recently shared significant information about new features that are now open to everyone on Facebook after outlining his vision for WhatsApp Communities. The first piece of news concerns WhatsApp Communities: finally, anyone can start a community by supporting smaller groups and a main announcement channel to bring related groups together in one location!
Mark Zuckerberg is also unveiling polls and open 32-person video calling, so that's not all! For select lucky beta testers, we recently disclosed the ability to make polls and 32-person video calling on WABetaInfo. Now, WhatsApp is making these capabilities available to everyone.
Remember that these features are end-to-end encrypted as always, making it impossible for anyone to view the polls you shared or hear your video calls.
The best advice is to keep your version of WhatsApp for Android and iOS up to date in order to get it faster, but it's probably only a matter of hours! Even though this is an official announcement about a global rollout, these features may not immediately reach your account, so don't be surprised if you open WhatsApp and you still cannot create a community or share a poll!
You can find out about all the other updates made to WhatsApp beta for Android, iOS, Web/Desktop, and Windows by following WABetaInfo on Twitter, where you can stay up to speed on WhatsApp news!
