The phone number visibility is a new feature that is currently being developed, and we published key information about it in the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.18.12 update. Some companies won't be able to see your phone number when you contact them via a Click to WhatsApp ad thanks to this functionality. There will be a function that will allow you to manually share your phone number with a specific company when you communicate with them and they don't already have it.
We found that more data would eventually be accessible via business details in the most recent beta version:
It will be possible to check whether the company can see your phone number within the business information, as you can see in this screenshot. You can share your phone number with the company in this area of the app even if they can't see it.
Sadly, this function is not now available because it is still in development and, as we already mentioned, it will only be provided to specific companies. Additionally, in the future, WhatsApp will allow users to utilise this function to hide their phone numbers from other members of the communities they are a part of. As always, when there are any updates, we'll let you know.
