With MIUI, you can improve the usability of your Xiaomi or Redmi smartphone's camera. You may save the most recently used mode and avoid your Xiaomi phone from resetting it when you close the picture app.
When you close the picture app on any Android smartphone, it resets. As a result, the picture app always starts in the basic photo mode with the primary lens. You may force the picture app in MIUI 13 in Xiaomi and Redmi to preserve the last used photo mode—portrait, night, macro—so that it opens by default, even after you quit the app.
On your Xiaomi smartphone, launch the picture app.
Tap the hamburger menu on the upper right.
Select Settings.
Select the Keep previous mode checkbox.
Unfortunately, this function only stores the last mode used. You cannot, for example, preserve settings made in pro mode. Zoom and filter levels are also reset.
However, it is still quite useful, especially if you wish to utilise a same photo setting several times. The photo carousel's full resolution (108M), night mode, panorama, and other modes are all saved in the "More" pane. The ability to save the most recently used mode eliminates the need to hunt through the application for the desired mode.
And, since I saw you in the comments, YES, you can easily alter the default photo styles presented in the carousel to include your personal preferred option. However, this technique is usually for special occasions. Assume you're in a park and want to capture a macro shot of some flowers. It doesn't imply you should always shoot macro images.
That concludes this little lesson; what are your thoughts on this MIUI trick? Which "unique" photo setting on your Xiaomi or Redmi smartphone do you use the most?
