You might be misled in believing that iPhones are the most expensive in India. Yes, the price of an iPhone is high in India. However, there are other nations where purchasing an iPhone costs significantly more. With the release of the new iPhone 14 series, Turkey has replaced Brazil as the country with the most costly iPhones, which it held for years.
According to statistics from Nunkeni, Turkey has supplanted Brazil as the country with the most costly iPhone. And it applies to every model introduced this year, regardless of the storage option.
The base model of the iPhone 14 Pro costs $2,193.15 (about Rs 1,74,855) in Turkey, which is more than three times what it does in the USA, or $799. (around Rs 79,648). In Turkey, the 1TB storage model costs as much as $2,916.90 (about Rs 2,32,558). In contrast, the price of the iPhone 14 Pro in Brazil is $1,458.51 (about Rs 145,360).
The standard iPhone 14, with a $799 (Rs 64,067) beginning price in the US, costs $1,699.69. (around Rs 152,997). The base prices for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 are, respectively, Rs 1,29,900 and Rs 79,900 in India.
But what brought about such high iPhone prices in Turkey? The nation hasbeen facing a critical economic crisis, with an inflation rate rising to 80% for the first time in more than 20 years. Last year, Apple products in the country received a 25 per cent price hike once they went back on sale after a brief halt as the Turkish lira, the country's local currency, lost 15% of its value against the dollar in a couple of hours.
Even after adding the tax, iPhones have always been the least expensive in the US. Apple raised pricing this year in a number of different nations throughout the world. Due to the euro and dollar's parity in Europe, the cost of iPhones and other recently released products has gone up. While in the UK, prices have increased as a result of the weakening of the pound.
Meanwhile, costs have gone up in India as well. The iPhone 14 costs Rs 1,29,000, which is Rs 10,000 higher than the iPhone 13 Pro, which was released for Rs 1,19,900 last year. The cost of the iPhone 14 is, however, the same as the cost of the iPhone 13 - Rs 79,900.
