The iPhone 14 series is ready to begin coming to early purchasers (three of the four will be available tomorrow), and while they don't appear to be particularly different on the exterior, there are some significant improvements inside. The internals of the iPhone 14 Pro Max are shown in this breakdown video by PBKreviews.

The good news is that the phone, or at least some of its components, are quite simple to fix. There is no card tray for a real SIM card because this is a US model. This implies that the display is the first component to be removed from the phone.

A metal plate functions as a heat spreader and helps keep the numerous wires firmly linked to the two-layer motherboard. Following that,is gone, one may begin disconnecting the screen as well as the batteries (the battery is marked 16.93Wh, by the way). So, while these two typical fixes are simple, they are not inexpensive.

Gettingto the cameras does need the removal of a few additional components. One intriguing aspect of the video is that it appears like the new front-facing camera features OIS (you can see it at the 3:40 mark). Apple introduced autofocus for the first time, but there was no mention of optical stabilisation; the published specifications simply reference "Auto image stabilisation." This is something worth looking into.

Another intriguing change is a mystery new component, which appears to be part of the new SOS via satellite feature.
