According to a reviewer, Apple's iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus have an easily replaceable rear glass cover. The display of the iPhone 14 Pro may also be changed without removing the True Depth Camera module, according to the review. These adjustments are believed to lower the cost of repairing freshly released devices. The reviewer also said that all four versions in the iPhone 14 series include a new ambient light sensor at the back.
In his review of the iPhone 14 series, TechCrunch's Matthew Panzarino stated that the vanilla iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus had an easily detachable rear glass panel. Panzarino also stated that the iPhone 14 Pro's display may be changed without removing the True Depth Camera module. According to Panzarino, this will result in much lower repair costs for the recently released iPhone 14 series.
In his assessment of Apple's new phones, CNET's Patrick Holland also said that the iPhone 14 has an internal overhaul that allows for improved heat management and allows the back glass panel to be readily fixed. Holland also stated that the glass back cover of the smartphone may now be fixed at a lesser cost.
According to Mashable's Stan Schroeder, the iPhone 14 series, which includes the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max, now has twin ambient light sensors. He noted in his evaluation that the iPhone 14 series has an ambient light sensor in addition to the one in the front. He feels that the back ambient light sensor will enhance the phones' automatic brightness adjustment capability.
He compared the iPhone 14 Pro to the iPhone 13 Pro to determine the difference. "I grabbed the 14 Pro and the 13 Pro in my hands, held them up to strong light, then turned away and walked into a dark room, and the 14 Pro was more quick in changing the display's brightness," Schroeder said. In his review, Panzarino also said that the iPhone 14 series has an additional ambient light sensor on the rear. The new ambient light sensor is intended to aid with display brightness adjustment and camera exposure determination.

"I took the 14 Pro and the 13 Pro in my hands, held them up to bright light, then turned away and walked into a dark room, and the 14 Pro was faster in altering the brightness of the display," Schroeder said. Panzarino also said in his evaluation that the iPhone 14 series features an extra ambient light sensor on the back. The new ambient light sensor is meant to help in the adjustment of display brightness and camera exposure.
