According to 9to5Google's newest "APK Insight" report, a recent upgrade to the Google Messages app has prepped the app for a few of new messaging functionalities of current features. These incomplete features
You may send and receive voice communications whether you are sending a conventional SMS/MMS or RCS message. In a future update, you'll be able to read transcriptions of your voice messages to help you communicate more easily, possibly in situations when you can't listen to a message aloud. The functionality was manually activated and tested in the report.
Screenshots show that the voice memo is transcribed on-device. When transcribing a voice note lasting more than 10 seconds, there was a noticeable delay.
Google Messages responses enable you to ding an object.In answer to any RCS communication, use an emoji. A forthcoming upgrade would allow you to respond to a message using any emoji, rather than only one of the seven now accessible.
The thumbs-down emoji has been replaced with an icon that displays all of the other emojis in this upgraded functionality. The function was manually activated and tested, and regardless of whether the feature was active or not, users may get new emojis as replies.
These features may be included in a future version of the Messages app, but they have yet to be verified, so they may or may not appear in upcoming releases.
