Sony introduced the WH-1000XM5 noise cancelling headphones to the global market in May 2022. Customers in India have been anxiously waiting for the headphones to arrive in the country, and it looks that the wait is finally coming to an end.
Sony teased the WH-1000XM5 headphones on its Indian website, and a similar teaser is also available on Amazon India. Given the upcoming Great Indian Festival sale, Sony may release these headphones in India on September 23rd.
Sony WH-1000XM5 specifications and features
The Sony WH-1000XM5 is said to feature the greatest noise-cancelling technology on the market. The headphones do this by employing eight microphones, which significantly minimise noise, mostly in the mid and high-frequency regions.
The XM5 also has the greatest audio quality in the industry. It has a different design than the XM4, and the firm claims that it has concentrated a lot more on comfort this time around. The earcups may move sideways but not inwards like the previous generation.
They have huge 30mm dynamic drivers and wireless communication through Bluetooth 5.2. SBC, AAC, LDAC audio formats, as well as A2DP, AVRCP, HFP, and HSP sound profiles, are all supported. The earphones also contain AI-based DSEE Extreme technology, which restores quality and clarity to lossy compressed codecs.
The XM5 has a battery life of up to 30 hours with ANC enabled and up to 40 hours without.ANC. A full charge takes about 3.5 hours and you can charge via a USB Type-C port. The headphones cost $399.99 worldwide, which is equivalent to about Rs 31,650.
