Despite the fact that iOS 16 is being made available for iPhone 8 and upwards tonight, it appears that not all of the features will be compatible with every supported iPhone model. Some iOS 16 capabilities, according to a report, will be accessible for iPhone XS and later models with the Apple A12 Bionic chip or newer. Although the precise cause is unknown, it is most likely because some functionalities demand more processing power than the A11 Bionic chip can provide.

Several iOS 16 features, according to a report by 9to5Mac, will only be available for the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, iPhone SE (2020), iPhone SE (2022), iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max, and the recently released iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Additionally, it states that many iOS 16 capabilities are only available on more recent devices, such the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 series.

A few capabilities, like Live Text in films that works in Photos, Quick Look, Safari, and other apps, are accessible on all the phones listed above. Improvements to Visual Look Up, Quick Actions in Live Text, Live Text in new languages, Emoji in texts that may be inserted while sending messages with Siri, and Visual Look Up

Live Captions, which are exclusively accessible in English (US) and English, is one of the iOS 16 innovations that will be available for iPhone 11 and later devices (Canada). Additionally, foreground blur in portrait photographs and better quality when recording in Cinematic Mode are iOS 16 improvements that are only available on iPhone 13 devices.

Lastly, the iPhone 14 models are the only ones that can use some iOS 16 capabilities. The first is 4K Cinematic Mode, which can now capture 4K films at both 24 and 30 frames per second. Additionally, the new Action Mode considerably lowers shakes, movements, and vibrations by utilising the sensors in the iPhone 14 series.
