The entry-level Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 and mid-range Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipsets from Qualcomm were recently introduced. The SD 4 Gen 1 is constructed on a 6nm node, whereas the SD 6 Gen 1 is based on a 4nm manufacturing process. These chips are designed for 5G devices in large quantities. The Snapdragon 695 chipset is effectively replaced by the Snapdragon 695 Gen 1, which is based on a 4nm node. Up to 35% and 40%, respectively, more performance is added to the CPU and GPU, respectively.
An octa-core CPU with four Cortex-A78 and four Cortex-A55 cores is featured in the new chipset. The maximum clock speed of it is 2.2GHz. It also has an unidentified Adreno GPU that supports the OpenGL ES 3.2, OpenCL 2.0 FP, and Vulkan 1.1 APIs. The GPU supports HLG HDR Playback Codec, hardware-accelerated H.256 and VP9 decoding, and HDR gaming compatibility.
Up to 12GB of 2750MHz LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage are supported. Additionally, for enhanced AI network performance, Qualcomm is providing the 7th Gen Qualcomm AI Engine along with the 3rd Gen Qualcomm Sensing Hub, which is always on.
The chip's Snapdragon X62 5G Modem-RF system, which supports both, is on the connectivity front.mmWave and sub-6GHz 5G. Qualcomm FastConnect 6700 system is also offered on the chip which brings Wi-Fi 6E support and Bluetooth 5.2 with LE Audio.
A 25MP+16MP twin camera system, a single 48MP camera, or up to three 13MP cameras can all be used with the processor's Qualcomm Spectra 12-bit Triple ISP. The ISP also offers slow-motion 720p video capture at 240FPS, 4K HDR video capture at 30FPS, hardware-based multi-frame noise reduction, and AI-based face detection, auto-focus, and auto-exposure.
In addition, the processor supports dual-frequency GNSS (L1/L5), Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ fast charging, Sensor-Assisted Positioning, and up to FHD+ 120Hz on-device displays.

The Snapdragon 480 Plus from previous year is replaced by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1. Based on a 6nm technology, it improves CPU performance by up to 15% and GPU performance by 10%.compared to its predecessor.
The chipset includes an octa-core CPU with eight Kryo Efficiency CPUs (Cortex A55-based) running at up to 1.8GHz and two Kryo Prime CPUs (Cortex A78-based) running at up to 2.0GHz. We receive an unidentified Adreno GPU with support for Vulkan 1.1, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2.0 APIs on the GPU front. Along with eMMC 5.1 and UFS 2.2, LPDDR4X memory up to 2133MHz is also supported.
The processor has a Snapdragon X51 5G Modem-RF system and a Qualcomm FastConnect 6200 System for connectivity, including compatibility for Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.2. Additionally, the Qualcomm Spectra 12-bit Triple ISP with Multi-frame Noise Reduction (MFNR) and Triple Concurrent photo and video capture is included with the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1. It can hold up to three 13MP cameras. cameras, a 25MP+13MP dual camera system, or a single 32MP camera.
The 1080p single video capture at 60 frames per second, 1080p dual video capture at 30 frames per second, 720p slow motion video capture at 120 frames per second, and HEIC photo capture are also supported by the image signal processor. The chipset also supports dual-frequency GNSS (L1/L5), Sensor-Assisted Positioning, Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+, and up to FHD+ 120Hz on-device displays.
Before the end of September, the iQOO Z6 Lite smartphone, which will use the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 processor, will go on sale worldwide. The first SD 6 Gen 1-powered devices, however, are anticipated to arrive in the first quarter of 2023.
