Samsung Electronics Plans to Invest $5 Billion to Achieve Net Zero Emissions by 2050: Report

 Samsung Electronics is said to be aiming for net zero emissions by 2050 and expects to invest more than $5 billion (approximately Rs. 39,760 crore) on the transition away from fossil fuels. The South Korean firm has stated that it intends to reach net zero emissions in its smartphone, television, and consumer businesses by the end of this decade, and in its worldwide activities, including semiconductors, by 2050. Money will be invested in programmes such as lowering process gas emissions and regulating and recycling electronic trash.

According to a recent Reuters story, Samsung Electronics wants to invest more than $5 billion (approximately Rs. 39,760 crore) to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.


As previously stated, Samsung has set 2030 as the target date for attaining net zero emissions across its smartphone, television, and consumer businesses. By 2050, the internet behemoth intends to achieve net zero across all of its worldwide operations.

To recap, Samsung seeks to minimise process gas emissions by regulating and recycling electronic waste, saving water, and reducing pollutants.

In addition, the South Korean corporation intends to create new technologies to reduce power usage in consumer gadgets and data centers. Samsung will also establish long-term targets for reducing emissions in supply chains and logistics.

Samsung's good action has received great feedback from investors.
