The iPhone 14 series, Apple's iPhone lineup for 2022, was only recently unveiled. It is the brand's most recent generation of flagship handsets, and it looks that the Tata Group may be one of its suppliers in India.

The Cupertino-based giant's Taiwanese supplier Wistron Corp. and Tata Group are reportedly in discussions to form a joint venture that will enable them to build iPhones, according to a Bloomberg story. To put it another way, Tata may be the first Indian business to produce iPhones in the area. For those who don't know, the Indian conglomerate is well-known for a variety of businesses, including ones in the salt, steel, and even software industries. It now seems to be expanding its operations into a different sector.

The Indian salt to software conglomerate wants to tap the Taiwanese company's expertise in product development, supply chain, and assembly, according to sources familiar with the situation, who also stated that "The aim is to make Tata a force in technology manufacturing." Unfortunately, the joint venture's deal structure and other finer details like shareholdings are still unknown at this time. However, it's possible that the Indian company will purchase shares in Wistron's Indian operations.

It's also plausible that Tata was enlisted to help with the construction of a fresh assembly line in India. Since Apple has been assembling iPhones in the area since 2017, it wouldn't be surprising if it intends to increase manufacturing levels.to diversify its supply chain to regions outside of China.
