Following its victory in the 5G spectrum auction, Reliance Jio plans to build a 5G network around Diwali. Reliance Jio, India's largest telecom provider, spent Rs. 88,078 crores in the just ended auction. Notably, the telecom operator intends to put 5G handsets into the low-cost market.
However, the company's 5G services will be accessible in Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata within the next month. The formal start date has not been declared, but it is projected to be national in 2023.
"I am a staunch believer that Digital Freedom is a natural right of every Indian. As a result, 5G cannot remain an exclusive service available exclusively to the wealthy or those living in our major cities. We have pledged a total investment of '2 lakh crore to create our Pan-India True 5G network. During his keynote speech, RIL chairman Mukesh Ambani stated, "Jio has devised an aggressive 5G roll-out strategy that will be the quickest in the world."
However, in order to access 5G services, Reliance Jio customers must first determine if their phones are 5G compliant.
