Today during Apple's 'Far Out' launch event, the Cupertino company unveiled the Apple Watch Series 8 and Apple Watch SE (2nd Generation). The ninth model in the company's line-up of smartwatches is offered by the tech giant's most recent smartwatch series. There will be GPS and cellular models of the smartwatch. In addition, the business showed the updated version of the Apple Watch SE, which will replace the less expensive model that debuted in 2020. Starting on September 16, the new Apple smartwatches will be available.

Price and availability of Apple Watch Series 8 and Watch SE (2nd Generation)

Price for the Apple Watch Series 8 GPS starts at $399. (roughly Rs. 31,800). Its starting price in India is Rs. 45,900. Priced at $499, the Watch Series 8 cell phone device was launched (roughly Rs. 39,800). The smartwatch series will come with the following colour options: Midnight, Silver, Starlight, and Red. A three-month free subscription to Fitness+ is also included with the purchase of an Apple Watch Series 8 from the firm. You may order the smartwatch right now, and it will be delivered on September 16.

The GPS model of the Apple Watch SE (2nd Generation) costs $249, or around Rs. 19,800, while the cellular model costs $299, or roughly Rs. 23,800. In India, the GPS model starts priced at Rs. 29,900. Starting on September 16, the watch will come in Midnight, Silver, and Starlight colour options; orders placed today will be shipped on September 16.


Apple Watch Series 8 and SE pricing and availability in India have not yet been disclosed by the Cupertino tech giant (2nd Generation). On September 16, the smartwatches will go on sale in the US.

As a point of reference, the Apple Watch Series 7 started for Rs. 41,900 in India. The 41mm size option of the Apple Watch Series 7 retails for Rs. 50,900 in India.


Priced at Rs. 44,900 for the Apple Watch Series 7 GPS in the 45mm size and Rs. 53,900 for the Watch Series 7 GPS + Cellular in the same size.

Specifications for the Apple Watch Series 8

There are cellular and GPS models of the Apple Watch Series 8. The most recent smartwatch series keeps the always-on display (AoD) capability, just like the Watch Series 7 does. Compared to the previous generation, it has a larger display and an improved design.

Women who use the new Apple Watch Series 8 can monitor their ovulation cycles thanks to a new temperature sensor in the device. Apple claims that the data gathered is stored encrypted on the device and secured with end-to-end encryption as part of its new sophisticated ovulation tracking suite.


The latest Apple smartwatch lineup has many functions connected to health and fitness, just like the Watch Series 7 does. The built-in blood oxygen sensor enables tracking of blood oxygen saturation (SpO2). Additionally, it has monitoring options for electrocardiograms (ECGs), heart rate, and atrial fibrillation (AFib).

According to the Cupertino tech titan, the Apple Watch Series 8 has a battery life of up to 18 hours. Additionally, the updated wristwatch has a low power mode that extends battery life and provides up to 36 hours of battery life on a full charge. The business claims that it also supports faster charging.


Specifications for the second-generation Apple Watch SE

The Retina OLED display on the Apple Watch SE (2nd Generation) is 30% bigger than that on the model it replaces, which debuted in 2020. A speedier S8 processor, which Apple claims is 20% faster than the S5 chipset on the earlier model, is also included in the new wristwatch.

Apple claims that the updated Apple Watch SE (2nd Generation) has functions for monitoring your health, such as an ECG and blood oxygen levels. Additionally, it will include the crash detection function that is included in the Apple Watch Series 8 series.


Cellular connectivity will be available on the Apple Watch SE (2nd Generation), enabling the smartwatch to be set up with the company's Family Setup feature, which was first launched with the Apple Watch SE. Additionally, it has a fall detection system, an optical heart rate sensor, and an emergency SOS feature. Water resistance on the most recent Apple Watch SE (2nd Generation) is 50 metres.
