It's time for an unpacking now that the brand-new Poco M5s have arrived at our residence. A case, a plastic screen protector, a SIM tool, a USB cable, and a 33W charger are all included in the retail package.
The Poco M5s has a bit of a mixed bag feel about it. On the one hand, it comes with high-quality specifications including an AMOLED display, a 5,000mAh battery with 33W charging, and 64MP primary and 8MP ultrawide cameras. On the other hand, it only refreshes at 60Hz and is powered by a two-year-old 12nm MediaTek Helio G95 CPU.
The IP53 splash resistance, the expandable storage, the 3.5mm headphone jack, and the capable software combination of MIUI 13, Android 12, and the Poco launcher are a few redeeming features. The 6.43-inch display makes the Poco M5s one of the more compact phones around - a key feature for some buyers.
The Poco M5s and Poco M5 were both unveiled at the same time, therefore it is important to note their distinctions. The M5s sports a 13MP front-facing camera, a 64MP rear camera, a quicker 33W charging, and an AMOLED display.
The IPS LCD of the Poco M5 refreshes more quickly, at 90Hz. 50MP for the primary camera, 5MP for the selfie camera, and no ultrawide. Additionally, it charges more slowly despite having the same 5,000mAh battery.
The M5 features a more recent MediaTek Helio G99, a 6nm chip that is otherwise comparable to the 12nm Helio G95 in terms of processing power and graphics.
