On Monday, the Poco M5 was introduced in India. The new Poco M-series phone features a water-drop notch display, an octa-core MediaTek Helio G99 SoC, up to 6GB of RAM, and a triple back camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary sensor as its focal point. The smartphone's up to 90Hz refresh rate display, an 8-megapixel front-facing camera, and up to 128GB of storage are some of its other standout features. The phone has a Turbo RAM feature that, by using the internal storage, effectively increases the built-in RAM. A 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging powers the Poco M5.
Poco M5 price in India, availability
The base Poco M5 model, which comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, is priced at Rs. 12,499. A 6GB RAM + 128GB storage edition of the phone is also available for Rs 14,499, however. It is featured in Icy Blue, Poco Yellow, and Power Black colour combinations.
The Poco M5 will be offered for purchase starting on September 13 through Flipkart. Customers purchasing the smartphone with ICICI and Axis Bank cards can take advantage of a flat discount of Rs. 1,500 during the Flipkart Big Billion Day sale. Also guaranteed by Poco are a complimentary one-year subscription to Disney+ Hotstar and a complimentary screen protector for six months.
Poco M5 technical details
The 6.58-inch full-HD+ IPS LCD (1,080x2,400 pixels) screen on the Poco M5 supports variable refresh rates between 30Hz and 90Hz. The display features a waterdrop-style notch cutout to house the selfie camera, a touch sampling rate of 240Hz, and the DCI-P3 colour gamut. The display is additionally protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. As previously announced, an octa-core 6nm MediaTek Helio G99 SoC and up to 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM power the new Poco M-series phone. Additionally, the phone has a Turbo RAM feature that enables users to use internal storage to increase the RAM beyond 6GB.
The Poco M5 has a triple back camera configuration with a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 2-megapixel macro camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor for images and movies. The phone has an 8-megapixel selfie camera sensor at the front for taking pictures of oneself. Up to 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage can be found in the Poco M5.
The Poco M5 offers 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5, GPS/A-GPS, Infrared (IR) blaster, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone port as connectivity choices.
The 5,000mAh battery of the Poco supports 18W fast charging. On a single charge, the battery is said to provide up to two days of gaming.
