Now available are the smartphones Poco M5 and Poco M5s. These two devices attempt to reimagine the concept of value for money. They are powered by Mediatek Helio G-series chipsets and large 5,000 mAh batteries.
Poco M5
The 6.58" Full HD+ LCD screen on the M5 has a refresh rate of 90 Hz and a touch sampling rate of 240 Hz. On top of the screen, there is Gorilla Glass protection, and the 5MP selfie camera has a punch hole.
At the back, there are three cameras set on an island that extends from end to end. 2MP f/2.4 macro and 2MP f/2.4 depth cameras work in conjunction with the 50 MP f/1.8 main camera.
The Helio G99 chipset, the first in the series to be constructed using TSMC's 6nm process technology, is the star of the Poco M5's feature sheet. It has six Cortex-A55 processors clocked at 2.0GHz and two Cortex-A76 CPU cores operating at 2.2GHz. It is combined with 4GB or 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB or 128GB UFS 2.2 storage in the Poco M5. Additionally, there is a microSD card for additional storage.
The Poco M5 comes pre-installed with MIUI 13 on top of Android 12. With an 18W charging support and a 5,000 mAh battery, it weighs 201 grammes.
Available in Black, Green, and the unusual Poco Yellow, it has a plastic back with a leather-like texture. Starting at €189 for the 4/64 GB model, €209 for the 4/128 GB model, and €229 for the 6/128 GB model. When the sale starts tomorrow, September 6, the first buyers will receive an early bird discount of €20. Users in India only have two options; the first costs INR12,499 ($155) and the third costs INR14,499 ($180), with an additional INR1,500 ($20) discount offered by collaborating banks. A week later, on September 13, sales will start in the nation of South Asia.
Poco M5s
The 6.43" AMOLED screen of the Poco M5s only refreshes at 60Hz. It is driven by.the 12nm Helio G95 chipset that arrived nearly two years ago.
The M5s gets a more capable camera setup than the M5 with the 64MP f/1.8 main unit joined by an 8MP f/2.2 ultrawide shooter with 118-degree FoV. A couple of 2MP shooters for macro and depth are still present. The front camera, tucked inside a punch hole has a 13MP sensor
The M5s increases the rapid charging speed to 33W, filling the 5,000 mAh cell in just over an hour despite the fact that the battery capacity may be the same. NFC, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a 3.5 mm audio jack, and an IP53 rating are further features of the Poco M5s.
Because the phone is already offered in India under the names Redmi Note 10S and Redmi Note 11 SE, all of these characteristics may seem familiar. The software is one significant difference; the Poco M5s comes with the most recent MIUI 13 on top of Android 12.
