Xiaomi's first foldable smartphone is the Mi Mix Fold. It was announced at the end of March 2021, and by mid-April, it was open for purchase. The predecessor of the Xiaomi Mix Fold is not available outside of mainland China, just like the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2.
With Android 11, the device made its debut. The Android 12 update is now being applied to the handset, about a year and a half after its debut.
The Mi Mix Fold 2's most recent software update has the build number V13.1.1.0.SJTCNXM. The upgrade raises the Android version to 12 and the security patch level to August 2022, according to the official changelog.
The gadget is presently running MIUI 13, the most recent iteration of Xiaomi's Android overlay. MIUI 13was released for the phone in late April.
The Mi Mix Fold has always received software upgrades more slowly than Xiaomi's other phones. However, it did receive an upgrade in October with the most extensive MIUI changelog. Based on suggestions from the phone's actual users, this particular software upgrade added enhancements and additions.
A report from December claimed that the Mi Mix Fold might not get fresh MIUI updates. Thankfully, that proved out to be untrue. It is unknown if the smartphone will eventually receive an update to Android 13 or at least Android 12L.
