The latest lineup of its flagship smartphones, the Huawei Mate 50 series, will be unveiled by the Chinese tech giant Huawei on Tuesday, September 6.

Only one week separates the smartphone series' debut, therefore Huawei has begun to drip-feed its admirers on its official social media accounts information about the Huawei Mate 50's standout features.

The Huawei Mate 50 series of smartphones will have revolutionary battery endurance never seen in a smartphone, the company teases in an official Weibo post on Chinese social media today. With the tagline "Even after your phone has run out of battery, your phone still has the energy to go further," the firm promotes the feature.

According to ITHome's earlier story, Huawei has created a "emergency battery mode" in Harmony OS 3 specifically for the Huawei Mate 50 series, according to sources in the industry. Huawei's planned emergency battery mode, in contrast to competing hyper energy saver modes from its rivals, will still permit users to scan QR codes and place calls even when the phone is ostensibly "out of juice."

The emergency mode of Huawei has been the subject of speculation in China's tech community. Some suggested setting the smartphone voltage to a very low level just before the power is turned off, such as setting the voltage from an idle 3.2 V to below 2.8 V, in order to squeeze out tens of hundreds of mAh of power for emergency use. Others suggested setting the voltage from an idle 3.2 V to below 2.8 V.

In plainer language, there are various instances where the emergency battery mode can be beneficial for potential buyers. When the smartphone runs out of battery, for instance, you can activate emergency mode and check thenearest QR location code and enter a nearby electronics store to borrow a power bank.

In addition to being the first Huawei flagship smartphone series to include a flagship camera setup co-engineered with mobile photography company XMAGE, the Huawei Mate 50 series is confirmed to be the first smartphone to include Huawei's next-generation Harmony OS 3 operating system.
