Vivo has yet to announce a date for the redesigned X Fold+ phone, but you can now get a look at it after China's MIIT revealed photographs of the new foldable flagship.

And when we say "new," we mean "new on the inside," because the outside is the same. The images show the black colorway, which has the same ornamental band across the vivo logo on the fake leather exterior as the white colorway.

Inside, the vivo X Fold+ will receive an update to the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 CPU (up from the original 8 Gen 1), while the 4,600mAh battery is slated to enable 80W fast charging (up from 66W).

There should be no differences between the displays and cameras.vivo X Fold original This translates to a 6.53" cover display (FHD+, 120Hz, AMOLED) and an 8.03" main display (1,916 x 2,160px, 120Hz, LTPO AMOLED).

The Zeiss-branded cameras are expected to include the same quartet of 50MP main module (1/1.57" sensor, 1.0m, OIS), 48MP ultra wide (114°), 12MP portrait cam (2x), and 8MP periscope (5x, OIS). There are also two selfie cameras, one outside and one inside.

The regulatory difficulties appear to have been overcome, now all that remains is for vivo to make the X Fold+ official.
