Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) technology will be included into some of LG Electronics' smart TVs, the company has revealed. This comes just after Samsung made a related decision. LG has also launched LG Art Lab, a brand-new NFT marketplace. Sculptor Barry X Ball will create the first piece of art for the new NFT platform.
Beginning on September 22, 2022, when the first piece of art is released, the service will be accessible. For LG smart TVs running WebOS 5.0 or later, the app is available in the US market. On the home screen of the TV, you can download the app. Users may then utilise NFT drops to buy and sell artwork on the site in the future. The NFT from Barry Ball, which has a metallic appearance, is the first drop.Users will use the USD coin stablecoin platform to purchase artwork on the app. The user will scan the QR code and open the Wallupto app on a smartphone to complete the transaction.
Hedera, which makes use of hashgraph technology, is the foundation of the LG NFT platform. The majority of platforms, including Solana and Ethereum, use blockchain technology. Hashgraph is said to be faster and more effective than Blockchain. Monthly NFT drops will be released, according to LG. The LG Art Lab is presently inactive, and no pricing information is available.
A video featuring Barry X Ball announcing the impending NFT drop on September 22 can be seen in the app. Regarding the LG Art Lab's accessibility in other markets, LG is mum. When not in use, the artwork can be exhibited on the smart TV.
