According to Chinese platforms that follow such movements, Lei Jun, the co-founder and CEO of Xiaomi Technology, has stepped down as chairman of a subsidiary firm.
He will leave Xiaomi Electronic Software Firm, a branch of Airstar Digital Technology, an allied company that handles consumer financial operations such as digital payments and wallets.
This is the executive's second big shift in the last six months. He left Xiaomi Youpin, an e-commerce platform for lifestyle items, in April.
Lin Bin, another director of the same business, will also resign, but both will retain their interests in the firm. Xiaomi's public relations staff indicated that this is routine business for Xiaomi's subsidiaries.This is done to improve their internal management and processes.
