The Huawei Mate 50E debuts as the fourth and last device in the lineup, ranking following the Mate 50, Mate 50 Pro, and Mate 50 RS Porsche Design. It does make certain compromises in order to keep costs down, but it still seems to be a fantastic phone.
The Mate 50E uses the same 6.7-inch 90Hz OLED display as the Mate 50 but with a Snapdragon 778G processor that is less powerful (once again no 5G connectivity). Again, 256GB NM memory cards are supported for storage up to 256GB.
The camera system keeps the 13MP f/2.2 ultrawide camera and the XMAGE 50MP main shooter with f/1.4-4.0 variable aperture. With the 3D ToF sensor, the front foregoes the notch and insteadonly on a single 13MP ultrawide camera with f/2.4 aperture.
The 4,460 mAh battery is also borrowed from the vanilla Mate 50 along with the 66W charging support.
The Mate 50E is available in Silver, Black, and Purple. It starts at CNY 3,999 ($575) for the basic 128GB version, and delivery begin in October. There is no information regarding a worldwide release, so don't hold your breath.
