Today, Sony made the Xperia 5 IV official as planned. The Japanese electronics behemoth's newest tiny flagship smartphone offers significant enhancements. The new model has better cameras, a bigger battery, and capability for wireless charging. Let's explore everything it has to offer.
Sony Xperia 5 IV Technical Information
The 6.1-inch OLED screen of the Sony Xperia 5 IV has a 2520 x 1080 (FHD+) resolution and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. It is driven by an 8GB RAM and 128GB storage Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC.
The device launches Android 12. It has a body that is IP68-rated for resistance to water and dust. Both the front and the back of the gadget are protected with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.
The device has dualstereo speakers with support for Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res Audio, DSEE Ultimate, and 360 Reality Audio. There’s also a 3.5mm headphone jack and a MicroSD card slot.
There is a triple camera system on the back, speaking about cameras. The 12MP resolution is shared by all three sensors. A 24mm equivalent 1/1.7′′ lens is used by the primary camera, a 16mm equivalent 1/2.5′′ lens by the ultra-wide angle, and a 60mm equivalent 1/3.5′′ lens by the 2.5x telephoto camera.
Real-time Eye AF, Real-time tracking, and 120fps readout are supported by all three cameras. The telephoto and wide modules both include optical picture stabilisation (OIS). Finally, a 12MP sensor with a 24mm equivalent f/2.0 lens is located on the front.
Last but not least, a 5,000mAh battery powers the Sony Xperia 5 IV. Both Qi wireless charging and 30W USB PD rapid charging are supported. The USB cord and charger are not included with the device.
