Apple introduced iOS 16 on Monday, and it was somewhat more popular than iOS 15 in the first three days. While this is a welcome upgrade for users of earlier iPhones, anyone purchasing an iPhone 14 model will receive the new OS right away. But there's a catch.

The iPhone 14 series was factory flashed with a somewhat earlier release of iOS 16, and Apple detected three faults with it. The first is crucial since it may cause issues while activating your new phone and migrating from the old one.

Don't worry, iOS version 16.0.1 is already available, and the phone should prompt you to apply any system upgrades at the start of the first setup.setup. Before going, you should update.

Two further problems have been addressed in the current minor version. One impacted the iPhone 14 Pro Max, causing soft zoomed-in images (in landscape mode). Another factor contributed to the failure of business single sign-on apps to authenticate.

In addition, a larger upgrade, iOS 16.1, is currently in beta. It provides a battery % indication to some older iPhones, allows you to uninstall the Apple Wallet app, and offers "Clean Energy Charging." Essentially, your iPhone will assess the state of your local power supply and will choose to charge when low-carbon generators are available. This technology also monitors your everyday activities to ensure that your phone is charged when you need it.

Apple's iPhone14, 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max will be available tomorrow, so if you have pre-ordered one (or plan on picking one up from the store), remember to install the v16.0.1 update. The iPhone 14 Plus is coming on October 7.
