Since John Legere was appointed CEO, T-Mobile has been aggressive in its marketing activities for several years. T-Mobile frequently made sweeping accusations against its rivals that may have persuaded people to migrate to magenta. The latest advertising campaign from T-Mobile is problematic for AT&T.

T-Mobile last week unveiled a new ad campaign in which it claimed Verizon and AT&T only provided senior discounts in Florida.

T-Mobile is the target of a complaint from AT&T for allegedly employing deceptive advertising. As part of its request for "preliminary and permanent injunctive relief barring T-ongoing Mobile's deceptive and misleading advertising," AT&T filed the case with the Eastern District of Texas.

T-Mobile even launched a website called BannedSeniors.com as part of the campaign, where it assists Verizon and AT&T customers in obtaining a fake Florida address so they can be eligible for senior discounts with their non-T-Mobile carriers. It even goes so far as to enlist a real estate agent to assist customers in moving to Florida.

The goal of T-campaign Mobile's was to highlight its Magenta 55+ plan while criticising rival carriers for allegedly offering very few senior discounts to its customers.

False and misleading statements and representations of reality, according to AT&T, have unjustly and illegally shifted cash and profit away from AT&T and toward T-Mobile by tricking customers into, among other things, buying services from T-Mobile rather than AT&T. The business further stated that the falsehoodsof T-Mobile’s campaign “have damaged AT&T’s goodwill and reputation and are likely to impact AT&T’s sales.”
