Most likely, if you use a smartphone, you only have one primary SIM card in your device. You might have two SIM cards from the same operator or from two different operators if the phone is dual SIM. But have you ever questioned if fraudulent SIM cards have been issued in your name or on your identification documents? One major question that every user has is "if yes, how many of them are there?"

With the increase in digital and cyberattacks, this is one concern that smartphone users are continuously raising. If a SIM card issued in your name and ID is being used fraudulently, and you are ignorant of it, you could get into problems. You don't even need to physically go to an operator store to see if a SIM card has been issued on your ID or is connected to your Adhar Card.

Using your smartphone, laptop, or computer, you can quickly see how many SIM cards are connected to your ID and immediately block them. You'll save time, additional hassles, and physical work by doing this. For the purpose of reference, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has also established a few rules for the registration of SIM cards in India. 18 SIM cards can be granted to a single individual using the same ID or Adhar Card.

In order to reduce these fraudulent actions, TRAI has developed a special website where you can not only see exactly how many SIM Cards have been registered with your ID, but also block those that you are not aware of.

Step 1: Identify the number that you haven’t purchased or got issued under your Aadhar Card or name.

Step 2: Select the number on the TRAI portal.

Step 3: Raise a complaint that it doesn’t belong to you or is fraudulent.

Step 4: TRAI will process the request to block or deactivate the SIM and will also provide a specific ticket ID for this request. You can easily keep a track of the request and see how long the deactivation process will take.
