The fact that Google is releasing information on the Pixel 7 line on the day the iPhone 14 is released is definitely not a coincidence. After all, Google or Samsung can steal some of Apple's thunder, but we don't anticipate anything else significant from the manufacturer of the Galaxy Fold this year.
The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro were officially announced by the business on October 6, and now, via its online store and as reported by Phone Arena, Google has disclosed the colours you'll be able to acquire the phones in.
You can choose between Obsidian, Snow, or Lemongrass for the Google Pixel 7, and between Obsidian, Snow, or Hazel for the Pixel 7 Pro.
There isn't a huge variety, and each model just has one special colour. While Lemongrass is a greenish yellow, Hazel is a greyish green, and Obsidian and Snow are essentially black and white, respectively.
Google has disclosed the chipset these phones would employ in addition to the colours. The Google Tensor G2 is the new moniker for the Tensor chipset, which was previously known to be the following generation and used in the Pixel 6 range of smartphones.
"Even more helpful, tailored features to images, videos, security, and speech recognition," according to Google, will be added by this chipset. It's unlikely to equal the raw power of the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1, the best Android chipset at the moment, let alone the A16 Bionic that we're anticipating seeing in the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, based on the previous iteration.
Analysis: a new range of colours
While the Pixel 7's colour palette isn't particularly extensive, it does provide certain hues that the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro didn't.
Stormy Black, Sorta Seafoam, or Kinda Coral are the available colours for the Pixel 6, while Stormy Black, Cloudy White, and Sorta Sunny are the colours for the Pixel 6 Pro. Both choices have both blacks and whites, but this year's Hazel and Lemongrass options are brand-new.
Although many of them are two-tone tints, with a different colour above the camera block than below, the Pixel 6 range of smartphones undoubtedly boasts more fascinating colours. Google, however, has abandoned this notion with the Pixel 7.
Because of this, the new phones may appear smarter, especially with their metallic camera blocks, but they also appear slightly less distinctive and eye-catching. They will undoubtedly be counted among the greatest Pixel phones, though.
