According to the business, the number of requests made to Amazon Alexa in Hindi has climbed by more than 52% in the past year.

Customers in India use the Amazon Alexa voice service in Hindi and Hinglish millions of times per day to play music, get news, follow cricket scores, control their smart homes, set alarms and reminders, and much more.

According to Dilip RS, Country Manager for Alexa, Amazon India, "We have worked hard to make the Alexa voice service accessible and useful by introducing support for Hindi language, and updating it with content such as local information, music, Bollywood news, cricket scores, and so on."

The rise in Hindi-language Alexa usage over the past three years excites me. This motivates us to keep coming up with new ideas and enhance Alexa with local knowledge and capabilities," he continued.

Customers are getting the most out of their smart speakers by asking Alexa questions while not using their hands.

Customers frequently blend Hindi and English when speaking in Indian homes.

Both of these languages can be answered concurrently by Alexa thanks to its multilingual mode.

The Alexa Natural Language Understanding (NLU) team has also enhanced the multilingual model for the English and Hindi languages, according to the business, which has increased the voice service's ability to respond to mixed-language requests.
