The GoPro Hero 11 and Hero 11 Mini are the company's next flagship action cameras, released nearly a year after the GoPro Hero 10. The design of the Hero 11 is identical to that of the previous year's model, right down to the size and black colour. The new Hero 11 Mini device has the same characteristics as the bigger model but is smaller (133 grammes) and lacks the two LCD panels. Most controls are left to GoPro's Quik app.
The new 11 series uses the same 1/1.9" camera sensor, which has been upgraded to 27MP resolution. It also captures true 10-bit colour. You can capture films at up to 5.3K quality at 60fps or 4K at 30fps.at 120fps. The new FullFrame shooting mode captures 8:7 footage, while HyperView mode records in the standard 16:9 aspect ratio.
Other new low-light video modes include Vehicle Lights, Star Trails, and Light Paint. GoPro's famous HyperSmooth software stabilisation now includes an AutoBoost mode that handles even the most shaky videos. Automatic highlight videos collects your most recent videos in an orderly fashion. Owners of earlier GoPro cameras may also access the functionality through the GoPro membership service.
The GoPro Hero 11 comes included with the Enduro battery, which was an extra item for the previous generation Hero. The Hero 11 comes with a carrying case, sticky mounts, a mounting buckle with a thumb screw, and a charger.32GB Sandisk Extreme SD card and a USB-C cable. GoPro Hero 11 Black starts at $399 without a GoPro subscription while the regular price is $500. The Hero 11 Mini is $300/$400 respectively. Open sales for the Hero 11 Black start today from the company’s website while the Mini model is expected to join on October 25.
