Google released the Pixelbook in 2017, and the Pixelbook Go was released in 2019. Pixelbooks were to be released in the future by the search engine behemoth. The planned Pixelbook has been cancelled, and the team working on it has been disbanded, according to The Verge.
As part of its recent cost-cutting initiatives, Google has cancelled the Pixelbook project. Those working on the Pixelbook devices have been moved to other divisions inside the firm.
The Pixelbook Go is still available from Google. It has a 13.3-inch LCD touchscreen display with a resolution of up to 4K. The gadget includes a Core i7 8th generation Intel processor, up to 16 GB of RAM, and up to 256 GB of storage. It has a lighted keyboard, a dedicated button for summoning the Google Assistant, and a battery that can last up to 12 hours. The gadget supports 45W charging and comes with two USB-C connections. It goes without saying that it is powered by Chrome OS.
As a result, there will be no new Pixelbook in the future. The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro smartphones will be available next month, and they will include the company’s new in-house chip, the Tensor G2. It will come with the Pixel Watch, which will be Google’s first smartwatch with the Pixel name.
The Pixel 7 series and Pixel Watch are all set to debut on Oct. 7. There is speculation that the company will also unveil new Nest Home hardware at the same event.
Next year, the company will release its first Pixel-branded tablet. The company is also said to be working on its first foldable phone.
